Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information StethoPrep (“we”, “us”, “stethoprep.com”) collects, how we use it, and your choices. By using the site you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information you provide when you register: name, email address, phone number, the exam you're preparing for, and a password (stored only as a secure one-way hash — we never store your plain password).
• Social sign-in (optional): if you log in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from that provider to create your account. We do not receive your social password.
• Usage data generated as you practise: questions attempted, answers chosen, correct/incorrect results, bookmarks, spaced-repetition (revision) schedule, and custom test sets. This powers your dashboard, analytics and revision queue.
• Technical data: standard server logs and your browser/device may transmit IP address, browser type and similar information.

You can read all MCQ content without an account; the data above is collected only when you register and use the interactive features.

2. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To provide the QBank, tests, mistake-tracking, spaced repetition and progress analytics.
• To improve question quality (e.g. acting on issues you report).
• To communicate important service information.

3. Cookies

We use a strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you logged in, and a short-lived state cookie during social sign-in. We do not use our own tracking/analytics cookies for advertising. Our advertising partners may set their own cookies (see below).

4. Advertising

StethoPrep displays ads from third-party networks (currently Adsterra; we may add others such as Google AdSense in future). These partners and their advertisers may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including interest-based ads. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party advertisers' data practices. You can manage ad personalisation through your browser settings and tools such as aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com. If we enable Google AdSense, Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's advertising policies.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to run the site (e.g. our hosting provider) and advertising partners as described above, or where required by law.

6. Data security & retention

The site is served over HTTPS and passwords are hashed. We retain your account and usage data while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Contact), after which we remove your personal data except where retention is legally required.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing us at stethoprep@drvivektrivedi.com.

8. Children

StethoPrep is intended for medical students and graduates (adults). It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
